DESCRIPTION:
Chauncey Jerome, New Haven, Conn., Empire case shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case.
CONDITION:
The case has a beautiful crotch mahogany veneer. The finish is thin or gone in some areas. There are several areas of veneer loss on the base and the top. The painted dial (signed Chauncey Jerome) is in very nice condition with some professional restoration. The movement is signed. The hands are period and likely original. The upper and lower glasses are original. The lower glass is labelled "President's House" and shows Mount Vernon.
